A Chicago weekend built around shared worlds
FAN EXPO Chicago returns to Rosemont from 14 to 16 August 2026. The organiser describes a 75,000-strong audience spanning film, television, comics, anime and gaming. Several cast groups give the weekend a clearer shape than a simple list of names.
Kurt Russell makes his first FAN EXPO Chicago appearance and takes the main stage on Sunday. His programme adds a rare live conversation to a lineup already rich in genre history.
Middle-earth supplies the largest shared world. Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd and David Wenham mark 25 years of the film trilogy. Fans can also choose an Evening with the Hobbits on Saturday or a separate Second Breakfast on Sunday morning.
Supernatural connects Jared Padalecki with Mark Sheppard, Mark Pellegrino and Jim Beaver. Smallville Nights reunites Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum for a separate evening event. These focused sessions sit beside the daytime panels and signing programme.
The screen lineup also reaches The Boys, Lethal Weapon, Hellboy and the Halloween films through Taleventry’s connected profiles. That gives visitors several routes through the weekend without treating every guest as an isolated booking.
Guest appearances can change when professional schedules move. Taleventry shows announced guests who have live profiles, while the official event site remains the final source for appearance days.
