A nightmare loose in the waking world
The Corinthian is a nightmare created by Dream to expose the darkness that people hide from themselves. He abandons the Dreaming during his maker's imprisonment and enters the waking world. Behind his sunglasses sit mouths instead of eyes, making his polished human appearance a deliberate disguise.
Freedom changes the Corinthian from a designed warning into a self-directed predator. He cultivates other killers and treats their violence as proof that humans share his appetite. His defiance also forces Dream to confront whether a creation can outgrow its assigned purpose.
Boyd Holbrook gives the Corinthian an easy social confidence that makes his threat feel intimate. His calm speech and tailored appearance resist the usual visual language of monsters. That contrast lets viewers understand why strangers follow him before they recognise what he is.
