David Tennant is absolutely chilling in the role. He uses his natural charm and charisma not to endear the audience, but to make the character’s horrific, casual cruelty even more disturbing and repulsive.
He is arguably the greatest villain in the Marvel television universe. Kilgrave’s horrifying psychological abuse of Jessica Jones provides the series with a profound, incredibly relevant exploration of trauma and survival.
