Columbia

Columbia is a groupie within Frank-N-Furter's castle and one of the gathering's most visually expressive figures. Her costume and tap dancing turn enthusiasm into performance. Beneath that colour sits a history with both Frank and Eddie.

Columbia joins the celebration but cannot ignore how casually Frank discards other people. Eddie's fate and Frank's new interests expose the cost of her loyalty. Speaking against him changes her from chorus member to open dissenter.

Nell Campbell gives Columbia a high, distinctive voice and precise physical energy. Her tap sequence adds another theatrical language to the film's musical mixture. The performance lets joy, jealousy and grief occupy the same vivid design.
