The immortal who forgot her own name

Ashildr begins as an imaginative, brave teenager. After being resurrected by alien technology, she is forced to watch everyone she loves age and die, slowly calcifying into a cynical, deeply pragmatic immortal who views human lives as fleeting mayflies.

Maisie Williams delivers a phenomenal, heartbreaking performance. She perfectly captures the terrifying burden of an infinite memory, playing a character who must constantly invent new identities just to cope with the sheer weight of her past.

Her complex, deeply antagonistic relationship with the Doctor is fascinating. Ashildr is the dark mirror of the Time Lord, a tragic reminder that true immortality is a curse, not a gift.
