A warning nobody wants to believe
Alex Browning is a high-school student preparing for a class trip to Paris when he sees Flight 180 explode. His panic removes several passengers from the aircraft before the vision occurs. Survival leaves him isolated as investigators and classmates question whether he caused the disaster.
Alex begins tracing a sequence through the deaths that follow. He treats accidents as evidence of an unseen design and searches for rules that might interrupt it. Each correct prediction increases his responsibility while making his behaviour look more suspicious to everyone around him.
Devon Sawa plays Alex with restless attention, constantly checking objects that other characters ignore. The performance gives the film's elaborate accidents a human point of view. Horror audiences identify with his impossible task: proving a pattern that only becomes visible after somebody dies.
